Hotel de la Fuente is one of the few places that offers breakfast both in an air-conditioned dining room and in the outdoor patio.
With an eclectic selection of all time favorites plus traditional Belizean and Mestizo meals, the options are varied.
The all time favorite is “The Belizean”: eggs, fried jacks (similar to New Orleans’ beignets) beans, sausage, bacon, and salsa. Be careful! The fruit you see perched on top of the eggs is a fresh Habanero pepper, not a cherry! Let your server know if you want it hot.
Other options include pancakes and eggs, bacon and cheese omelettes, breakfast croissants, and club sandwiches.
Lighter options include fresh fruit platers, yogurt, fruit granola, toast and Nutella, and veggie sandwiches.
All breakfast meals include coffee and tea, unlimited refills.
You can get a backpackers breakfast here for US $3.00: Scrambled eggs, toast, peanut butter and jelly, slice of fruit, unlimited coffee or tea refills.
The restaurant sometimes gets full since the hotel does tours to Lamanai daily, and guests from nearby hotels come here for breakfast before departing.
La Malinche is the ideal place to start your day, whether on a tour or meeting friends for coffee and chat.
